Aleyna Ashenfarb is a trumpet teacher and performer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, seeking to enhance the quality of life for all through both the study and appreciation of classical music.

Aleyna enjoys an active performance career in Texas, having performed with the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Winds, East Texas Symphony Orchestra, McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, and Lone Star Wind Orchestra. At the graduate level, Aleyna enjoyed performing with the North Texas Wind Symphony and UNT Symphony Orchestra, playing principal with both ensembles. She was involved in two album recording sessions with the North Texas Wind Symphony (Respair & Closure). Aleyna has also been active in the chamber music scene, advancing to finals at the 2022 International Women’s Brass Conference with a graduate trumpet ensemble and placing second at the 2022 University of North Texas George Papich Chamber Studies Competition with a graduate brass quintet. Her undergraduate engagements included performances with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra (principal), Ithaca College Wind Ensemble (principal), Cornell Symphony Orchestra, and Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble. Outside of academia, Aleyna has performed at local churches and in musical productions over the past decade. She also featured with the Central Jersey Wind Ensemble, Asbury Park Concert Band, Toms River Municipal Band, and John Luckenbill Pops Band in her native New Jersey. In an effort to learn more about culture and people around the world, Aleyna has traveled and performed for audiences in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and the United States.

As a teacher, Aleyna has worked with students in Texas, New Jersey, and New York, and is currently employed as a trumpet instructor in multiple public school districts. Aleyna has taught in a variety of formal settings, from working in one-on-one lessons with beginning trumpet students to conducting concert bands and teaching music theory. Less formally, Aleyna has assisted beginning brass classes and music theory courses as a staff member at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (MI) and planned a general music curriculum for campers aged 3-14 at YMCA Camp Zehnder (NJ). Teaching is a passion for Aleyna, and she seeks to foster a joy of music-making driven by the practice of technical skills in all of her students.

Previously, Aleyna received her BM in Music Education and Trumpet Performance, summa cum laude, from Ithaca College (NY).
