I feel so lucky to have played one of my favorite orchestral pieces for the first time this weekend, the Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony, with the @wfsymphony, featuring Bradley Hunter Welch on organ. What a dream! Shoutout to my new Bach 190SL229F for making it easy to bring life to this music 🎶🎺

What a week! Had the pleasure of celebrating the @lonestarwindorchestra’s 20th Anniversary Season at the Meyerson in Dallas on Sunday as well as open the regional CBDNA Conference at the Murchison at UNT (the nostalgia!). It’s always a privilege to make music with such great people and musicians. Here’s to the next 20 years! 🎶🎺

I’m a little late to posting, but I had a great time playing Anything Goes at Marcus High School a couple weekends ago! It was special to share the pit with my colleague @jacyripley and our students, and to see them put on a show after losing their tech week to the winter weather in Texas. Always good to brush off those commercial chops!

What a treat to attend my first event as a Bach Regional Artist! It was great to meet so many folks at @connselmerinc @bachbrass and @bmhhmusic this morning and play a whole slew of trumpets. I had the unique opportunity to play several offstage parts with the Dallas Winds at their concert on Tuesday - what a fun night, moving and playing around the Meyerson!

Incredibly grateful to sub with such a wonderful group of people and musicians. The band (and trumpet section!) is phenomenal - congratulations on a wonderful season!

Hello Instagram! It’s hard to believe it’s been six months (!) since I’ve posted on here - there’s certainly been a lot of change and growth for me over the last half year, but I am incredibly grateful to have consistently had the opportunity during this period to do what I love most - making and sharing music with others! I’ve connected with so many wonderful people through the trumpet and I’ll always been so thankful for all of it.

Here’s a photo dump of concerts I’ve enjoyed recently with the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra, Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Winds, and Lone Star Wind Orchestra, as well as some church and musical performances.

Hard to believe it’s been a year since my master’s recital at UNT! I had fun while playing, but I will never forget how sick I was the month leading up to it - three days before, my sinuses had swollen behind my eye (did not know that was possible!) and I wasn’t sure I’d be strong enough to even stand the whole recital. My ears were clogged the whole performance and I didn’t know if I could handle the back pressure of the piccolo trumpet until I started that piece.. let alone handling breathing without coughing throughout 😅 regardless of unideal circumstances or less-than-desired execution, I’m proud of how I handled myself that day and how I’ve tried to make my health more of a priority since.
